Short Cuts – Great news from Honda. The only thing wrong with the new Civic is about to be put right.

Up to now – and despite their edgy looks – the Civic hatchback and Tourer have distinctly lacked oomph…

The new Civic Sport derivative will have the option of a 1.8-litre, 142 PS petrol engine which ought, at last, to give this stylish car the go it deserves.

To be introduced at the Paris show new Civic and Civic Tourer models  get a new front exterior design with new headlamps, integrated daytime running lights and a new sleek front bumper. The Civic hatchback also features a new rear bumper, side skirts, a rear spoiler finished in black, and LED rear combination lamps.

The Civic Sport gets a colour-coded rear spoiler and 17-inch alloy wheels. It also foreshadows the forthcoming Type R version with a new front bumper featuring a lower grille mesh and a black roof lining for the cabin.
