A new Guinness World Record record was set at Dunsfold Aerodrome, Surrey by David Coulthard F1 Driver and professional golfer Jake Shepherd
Coulthard was driving the fiercesome Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Roadster with its 571hp at 120mph. The golf ball was caught in the cockpit of the moving car. The car was already 275 metres from the tee, and the ball was hit by Jake at an astonishing 178mph. Even more amazing was it was only the second attempt of the day securing the world record for the furthest golf shot caught in a moving car.

All part of an upcoming viral fil being made by Mercedes-Benz to be launched in July. The SLS AMG Roadster with its AMG hand-assembled M 159 V8 engine, blasts to 62mph in 3.8 seconds.
Coulthard said: “This was definitely one of the most unusual things I’ve ever been asked to do with a car! Jake Shepherd was great to work with and the performance of the SLS AMG Roadster made driving to catch a mid-air golf ball even more exciting. I am honoured to have received the Guinness World Record for the furthest golf shot caught in a car.”
David George, Mercedes-Benz, added: “something exciting was needed to celebrate this special car with our association with golf ahead of the upcoming Open Championship. It was great to set a new world record in the process.”
