The Countyman will be available in five models, three will feature the ALL4, Mini four wheel drive option. With a price range starting at £16,000 – £20810 for the Cooper version. The “Countryman takes the MINI story to another level” according to Jochen Goller, Director of MINI UK.Mini Countryman side view

There will be three petrol and two diesel models alongside the higher spec Cooper D and and Cooper S featuring twin turbo and direct fuel injection. There will be two ALL4 four wheel drive models. The petrol engines are new to the range, although the diesels are shared with existing MINI range.

The Countryman will give all the driving thrills of the rest of the MINI range, but the Countryman now brings extra space and versatlity. Not everyone needs fourwheel drive. The Countryman features a smart and fuel efficient answer. The ALL4 being a front wheel drive car in most circumstances, but once any wheel slip is detected on the front wheels or if the car is being drive in sporting manner, an electro-magnetic clutch on the rear axle engages the ALL4 system to improve traction. The amount of power transferred to the rear is infinitely variable between one percent and one hundred percent dependent on conditions.
