Mustang Stampede Heading for the UK

In Ford, Mustang, Short Cuts by Jonathan Humphrey

In November the first deliveries of the fabulous RHD Mustang will hit the UK.

With over 2000 orders since January, what flavour of Mustang has been selected from the first British drivers fortunate enough to have orders placed for early delivery. I understand an extra supply of cars has been secured to meet the demand.

80 per cent of UK customers have opted for the fastback body style over the convertible, and 70 percent have specified the 416PS 5.0-litre V8 engine over the more fuel-efficient 317PS 2.3-litre EcoBoost engine. Mustang’s six-speed manual transmission is the slightly more popular choice (55 percent) over the six-speed automatic, which comes with sporty SelectShift paddle control.

More than half of the UK Mustangs have been specified with the Custom Pack. This includes satnav, the must have, Shaker Pro 12-speaker audio system, yes please and the heated and cooled front seats. On the fastback models, the rearview camera and Luster Nickel-silver alloy wheels with extra chrome bits have been specced.

My favourite, Race Red is the most popular exterior colour among UK buyers, with 23 percent of Mustang orders. Magnetic Silver and Shadow Black are the joint second choice (16.1 percent each) and Deep Impact Blue (10.7 percent) and Triple Yellow (8.6 percent) complete the top five. Ebony Black is the top pick for interior colour, selected by more than 75 percent of customers.

The right-hand drive Mustang is available to order in the UK from £29,995 (EcoBoost) and £33,995 (V8) and features a Thatcham Category One alarm as standard.
