The rather fine Alfa Romeo Giulia has been named “Most Beautiful Car of 2016

 
Readers of a couple of German titles have given the new Alfa Romeo Giulia the big thumbs up! In the “Das Goldene Lenkrad” AKA, Golden Steering Wheel competition.

The award just adds to the number of international prizes and accolades won by the new Alfa Romeo sports car. Auto Bild and Bild am Sonntag readers votes, were combined with views from a panel of 29 automotive experts. Members of the panel included rally champions Walter Röhrl and Sébastien Ogier, DTM champion Mattias Ekström and designer Andrea Zagato.

The Alfa Romeo Giulia was created by a Skunkworks of the best engineers, designers and stylists the Alfa Romeo Style Centre. The impressive Giulia is an innovative expression of the best Italian tradition. Combining harmonic proportions, the linearity of style, high-quality materials and sophisticated aluminium, wood and leather accents. All Iconic components originating from the brand’s over 100-year history, the most significant of which is the trefoil, probably the most famous emblem of Alfa Romeo design.

The awards have been going since 1976 and this year divided into seven categories. The “Golden Steering Wheel” was also won by Alfa Romeo in 2011 for the ad campaign “I am Giulietta”.

The Alfa Romeo 147 won in its category in 2000, while in 1995 the “Golden Steering Wheel” “Coupé” category award went to Alfa Romeo GTV.
