Latest Peugeot 3008 HYbrid4 is now available with even lower CO2 emissions just 91g/km.

Enhanced versions of the hybrid diesel technology used in the Peugeot 3008 Hybrid4 are in development. The 3008 Hybird4 was the first full hybrid diesel-electric crossover in the world. Already a pretty great hybrid car, one I have driven and am quite a fan of. This new development of the Peugeot 3008 Hybrid4 stays one step ahead by improving the environmental performance of its innovative drive train. The cars power plants are an HDi 163 diesel powering the front wheels and a 37bhp electric motor the rear wheels. The combination of which gives an acceptable 200bhp, four-wheel drive, with Auto, Sport and ZEV modes in a large luxurious crossover still with ultra low emissions of 91g/km.

Peugeot already with a wealth of experience obtained in the development of its three full hybrid diesel models in the range – 3008 HYbrid4, 508 RXH and 508 Saloon HYbrid4. The engineer identified aspects that offered opportunities for optimisation.

A number of improvements were made along with new engine management software. These changes, which optimise the phases of energy recovery and the management of the batteries, allowed new savings to be made in CO2 emissions and fuel consumption. These benefits are most marked in an urban driving environment.

This new model of the Peugeot 3008 HYbrid4 is now type-approved on the combined cycle at 91g/km and the potential for 80.7mpg for the version fitted with very low rolling resistance Energy Saving 16’’ tyres. The models fitted with other tyre sizes (16’’ M+S (‘Mud & Snow’), 17’’ or 18’’) also see their CO2 emissions reduced to 99g/km.

For company car users and operators, the three HYbrid4 models offer very attractive advantages, benefitting from the best possible environmental and fiscal position. Quite apart from the on-demand driving modes (ZEV, 4WD, Auto & Sport), plus good fuel economy and low emissions, HYbrid4 vehicles also benefit from low BIK (Benefit In Kind) taxation (10% on 3008 HYbrid4 & 508 Saloon HYbrid4, 12% on 508 RXH) and for companies the vehicles attract 100% Capital Write Down Allowance in the first year.

We are big fans of the Peugeot 3008 Hybrid4 and 508 RXH this latest new can only enhance these vehicles and bring hybrid motoring one step closer.
