Suzuki Advises Against MOT Failures

Suzuki cars are among the most reliable on the road, say owners

Just a few minutes’ routine attention can ensure they are in top form to pass when it comes to the MoT test.

The most common reasons for failures in the annual inspection of cars more than three years old are some of the easiest to avoid. Faulty bulbs, worn tyres and low fluid levels can all require the expense of a second test. Suzuki GB has joined forces with the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, the organisation that represents the UK motor industry, in its “Minute oTwo” campaign, promoting simple and effective maintenance that can keep cars in safe, legal condition.

Some of these issues can be put right at home, but for peace of mind, a pre-MoT check at a Suzuki service centre will ensure a vehicle is in tip-top condition, detecting any issues before customers have to pay the bill for a re-test.

Suzuki already has an impressive record when it comes to MoT passes: a 2012 survey published by leading consumer website honestjohn.co.uk, which number-crunched more than 24 million test results, revealed the Splash mini-MPV was the model least likely to fail among all the cars on Britain’s roads, posting an impressive 90 per cent first-time pass rate.

Both Jimny and Grand Vitara ranked in the high-80 per cent bracket too, and no Suzuki model scored lower than 85 per cent, making Suzuki the second highest-rated manufacturer.

Great though these figures are, Suzuki believes that it can help its customers enjoy even greater confidence in their cars as Denis Houston, Aftersales Director explained: “We’re proud that our vehicles are among the most reliable you’ll find, but there’s always room for improvement. By helping our customers, in line with the SMMT campaign, we can push even closer to a 100 per cent pass rate. That’s great for customers’ peace of mind, their trust in Suzuki and our dealerships, and for their vehicle maintenance costs.”
