SKODA is celebrating its most successful month ever after its retailers sold more new cars than ever before.

  • New Skoda car sales highest in more than 20 years
  • Fleet segment demand hits new peak
  • Record month for finance deals on new and used cars

Best Month Ever for Skoda

More than 7,000 cars found homes during September, which marked the arrival of the 61-reg plate, representing a 30% increase when compared with the same period in 2010.  It’s the highest total in the 20 years, since Volkswagen Group took control of ŠKODA in April 1991. The ŠKODA Octavia remains the most popular model, accounting for around 2,800 sales.

September was also a new benchmark for ŠKODA in the fleet sector, with more than 3,500 cars delivered to business users.  Fleet registrations have already exceeded 16,500 vehicles so far this year with a record fleet market share of 2.3%.

Many of September’s successes can be attributed to the market-leading offers from ŠKODA Finance, which has had a record month.  Its wide range of packages continues to offer car buyers exceptional value for money.

ŠKODA Brand Director Robert Hazelwood commented: “I’d like to thank everyone for making September such an amazing month. Everyone in the network and at our head office in Milton Keynes has done an amazing job to push us ahead of our Simply Grow targets. The challenge now is to keep that momentum going right through to the end of December, to turn a record month into a record year.”

Year-to-date, ŠKODA’s dealers have sold more than 36,000 cars, compared to around 33,000 this time last year.
